Not only is shrimp a good source of protein, but it is also rich in vitamins and minerals. With a fresh taste and a quick cook time, Gorton’s shrimp is an easy way to incorporate more seafood into your diet. Plus, it is non-GMO and immunity boosting.
As a freezer staple, Gorton’s shrimp is preserved for freshness whenever you need them and customizable to your cooking needs. The shrimp can be used to make a quick snack, appetizers or an entire meal for your friends and family.
Spicy Tip: While the Spicy Orange Sauce in this recipe requires Sriracha Hot Chili Sauce, the spicy heat can be modified to your tasted buds. Simply add one teaspoon of Sriracha at a time versus adding the required one tablespoon. If two teaspoons provides the sufficient spice that you like, then do not add any more Sriracha. If you love to bring on the spicy heat in your cooking, add an additional teaspoon or more of Sriracha until your have achieved the desired heat for this dish.
Now that I have shared a spicy tip on the signature Spicy Orange sauce, let’s get to the popcorn shrimp recipe:
Spicy Orange Popcorn Shrimp
Ingredients
- 1 14 oz pkg Gortons Popcorn Shrimp
- 1 cup SMUCKER'S Sweet Orange Marmalade
- 1 tbsp Sriracha Hot Chili Sauce
Instructions
- Cook one 14 oz package of Gorton's Popcorn Shrimp as directed on the package.
- In a small sauce pan, add one cup of Sweet Orange Marmalade and place on medium heat for 5 min. For purposes of this recipe, I used SMUCKER'S, however, you can use your favorite Sweet Orange Marmalade for this sauce.
- After the marmalade's consistency has reduced to a sauce, add one tablespoon of Sriracha Hot Chili Sauce to the Sweet Orange Marmalade and stir thoroughly using a fork or small whisk. Cook an additional 5 minutes and remove from the heat.
- Once the 14 oz package of Gorton's Popcorn Shrimp is completely cooked, place the hot shrimp in a large bowl. Gently toss the hot Spicy Orange sauce to coat the shrimp using a large spoon. Now you are ready to serve the Spicy Orange Shrimp as an appetizer, or as an entrée a top a bed of sticky rice or some beautifully leafy greens. Garnish the Spicy Orange Shrimp with toasted sesame seeds or finely sliced scallions. I hope that you enjoy this recipe as much as I do.
