This Cranberry Orange Margarita is the perfect festive combination of sweet and tart. Prior to making this cocktail, you will need to make a batch of my Cranberry Simple Syrup. The mixer will prove to be quite versatile and can also be used in other cocktails like my recipe for a Cranberry Caipirinha.
If you are afraid of tequila, don’t be. Tequila is a beautiful liquor when used properly. For this recipe, I highly recommend using either a reposado or añejo tequila. A reposado tequila is aged two months to one year in oak. In my opinion, this tequila is perfect for Margaritas. Añejo tequila is aged for one-to-three years in oak. Although añejo is a sipping tequila, I do like to use it in my cocktails for its elevated flavors and rich aromas. Using a higher quality tequila will always result in a more enjoyable cocktail experience.
Now that I have shared a couple of the key ingredients that you will need for this Cranberry Orange Margarita, let’s get to the recipe!

I hope that you enjoy this festive holiday-inspired Margarita as much as I do!
Although cranberries are scarce after the Christmas holiday, my batch of Cranberry Simple Syrup yields approximately nine cups. I canned this mixer in sterilized Mason jars so that I can have the syrup readily available throughout the year. For an additional festive touch, garnish the Cranberry Orange Margarita with a Dried Orange Slice or Candied Cranberries. Click here for the recipe!
