Let’s make dinner time easier with this Easy Fish Tostadas Recipe!
In light of back-to-school season, parents today have new challenges to face this year. Although some parents no longer have to organize a car pool or drive their children to school, the responsibilities that come with virtual learning have impacted many. I understand that not all parents have the time to make a made-from-scratch meal during the week, which is why I have come up with a fun recipe using Gorton’s Beer Battered Fish Fillets. The Easy Fish Tostadas Recipes in not only delicious, but it is a fun and creative way to add a medley of nutritious toppings that are both kid and adult friendly.
Toppings Tip: Even though I have used sliced purple cabbage, onions and yellow sweet peppers for the Fish Tostadas, customize this recipe by integrating the veggies that you and your family love. If you are a dairy-free household, omit the cheese or use your favorite vegan cheese. Not crazy about the toppings I used? Use a beautiful iceberg lettuce, tomatoes, avocados and other family favorites.
Now that I have shared how to customize your Fish Tostadas, let’s get to the Recipe!
Easy Fish Tostadas
Ingredients
- 1 18.2 oz Gorton's Beer Battered Fish Fillets
- 1 sweet pepper
- 1 medium onion
- 1 small purple cabbage
- 1 16 oz can of refried black beans
- 1½ cups sharp cheddar cheese
- 1 15 oz Mexican table cream
Instructions
- Prepare the Gorton's Beer Battered Fish Fillets as directed on the package.
- Thinly slice the sweet peppers, purple cabbage and onions. Place vegetables, cheese and tostadas in individual serving plates so that each family member can prepare their Fish Tostadas with their desired toppings.
- Cook the refried beans. If you have pinto beans in your panty, that will work as well!
- Once the Gorton's Beer Battered Fish Fillets and refried beans are prepared, place each one in its own respective platter. Now your family is ready to plate their own Fish Tostadas! While there is no rule as to what should be on a fish tostada, always start with a tostada and refried beans. Scoop approximately two tablespoons of refried beans onto a tostada. This will act as a glue. Top the beans with the veggies and cheese. Last, add one to two Gorton's Beer Battered Fish Fillets. Kids may also enjoy a drizzle of Mexican table cream on their tostada, while adults may enjoy a spicy salsa on their tostada. I hope that you enjoy this Easy Fish Tostadas Recipe as much as I do!

If the adults in your family are not fans of salsa, that is ok. Other wonderful toppings include avocado, sour cream, tomatoes, queso and more. This meal is about using fresh and delicious ingredients that your family will enjoy.
