Roasting Chili Peppers in the oven may sound complicated, but the process is quite simple. This recipe requires minimal preparation and cook time. The oven will do the bulk of the work in this recipe. Roasted chili peppers are great ingredients that will add dimension to salsas, dips, and hummus. If you are familiar with making chiles rellenos, roasting peppers is another easy way to peel the skin before stuffing the chiles.
Tip: The heat of the pepper is in its seeds. To reduce the heat in any dish that requires peppers, remove the seeds.

How to Roast Chili Peppers in the Oven: 5 Easy Steps
Ingredients
- 3 tbsp Olive Oil
- 4 Poblano Peppers
- 4 Jalapeño Peppers
- 1 tsp Sea Salt
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400°.
- Clean and dry poblano and jalapeño peppers.
- Place the peppers on a large baking pan. The pan should be big enough so that the peppers do not overlap each other.
- Drizzle approximately 3 tbsp of olive oil on the peppers. Sprinkle 1 tsp of sea salt on the peppers.
- Roast peppers in the oven for 30 minutes. Remove from oven and voila, your peppers are ready to incorporate into your favorite recipe.
