Strawberry Sauce

This recipe will yield a little over two cups of strawberry pureƩ.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup sugar
  • 3 cups frozen strawberries

Instructions
 

  • Combine both ingredients into a two quart sauce pan and cook on medium-high heat for ten minutes. Stir frequently so that the sugar and fruit do not burn. Reduce to medium heat and cook for an additional 20 minutes. Stir the fruit intermittently. If fresh strawberries are in season, cook the fruit and sugar on medium heat throughout the whole process for 30 minutes while stirring frequently.
  • Remove from the heat source and blend the fruit and sugar mixture using a hand blender. Use caution as the sauce is very hot. After blending, continue to heat the mixture for an additional 5 minutes and remove from the heat source.
  • Allow the pureĆ© to cool in the sauce pan for 1-2 hours. Store the strawberry sauce in a new and clean Mason jar. Refrigerate and use as needed. This beautiful sauce is perfect for cocktails, pancakes, ice cream and more!
