Kumquat Simple Syrup Recipe

This Kumquat Simple Syrup Recipe is perfect for both cocktails and mocktails. This recipe yields four 16 oz Mason Jars of Simple Syrup.

Ingredients
  

  • 16 oz Kumquats
  • 4 cups Water
  • 4 cups Sugar

Instructions
 

  • Clean, halve and deseed 16 oz of kumquats.
  • Combine water and sugar in a three quart sauce pan. Place on medium heat.
  • Once the water and sugar mixture has dissolved, add the 16 oz of kumquats. Cook on medium heat for 20 minutes.
  • At this point, the skin of the kumquats will appear translucent. Remove from the heat.
  • Since this is a large batch of simple syrup, I can the contents into four sterilized Mason Jars and its metal lids and rings. Once the glass jars and lids have been sterilized, fill each jar with the Kumquat Simple Syrup. Make sure to distribute and even amount of candied kumquats into each jar. Once each jar has been sealed, the filled Mason Jar should be sterilized with the Kumquat Simple Syrup one last time. I hope that you enjoy this simple syrup recipe as much as I do!
